Julianne Spilman, RDH

Julianne is a graduate of Onondaga Community College School of Dental Hygiene in 1989 and has been a mainstay at Gouverneur Dental Associates since that year.  Her skills as a periodontal therapist have guided hundreds of patients on the path to save their teeth when they thought it was hopeless.  Her understanding of the connections between gum disease and other systemic diseases also helps patients to improve their overall health. She has furthered her education with hundreds of hours of advanced training courses and is NYS Certified to administer local infiltration anesthesia.  Children are always welcome in Julie's chair and it is not uncommon to see Julie teaching a pre-school class who is at our office on a field trip during Childrens Dental Health Month each February.

Amanda Fenton, RDH

Amanda is a graduate of Canton College School of Dental Hygiene in 2010.  She originally received a degree in Biochemistry from SUNY Plattsburg in 2004.  Amanda previously worked full time as a clinical laboratory technician and still works part-time at the lab at Claxton-Hepburn Hospital in Ogdensburg.  Amanda continues to improve her skills as a periodontal therapist and just like Julianne, has many patients who thank her for saving their teeth.  She is very observant as well to help her patients co-discover problem areas in their mouth where disease may lurk and then  devise customized stategies that her patients use at home to bring their mouth back to ideal health.  Amanda enjoys little patients as well, and welcomes children of all ages to take a ride in her chair.

Karen Wilson, RDH

Karen is a native of Michigan and received her degree in Business Administration in 1994 from Ferris State and her degree as a Registered Dental Hygienist in 2006 From Grand Rapids Community College in Michigan.  If you have a pet and enjoy talking about animals, you will find a welcome ear from Karen, who enjoys her cats and has a soft spot in her heart for any animal.  If you are really serious about rescuing and saving your teeth from eventual loss due to gum disease, then spend some time with Karen.  Her ability to discover small but important details about exactly what you do for your teeth enables her to craft a customized plan of rescue for each of her patients so they can expect to keep their teeth for a lifetime.

Connie Matthews

Connie is a Gouverneur native and has the distinction of being one of the original employees when Gouverneur Dental first opened its doors.  Talented and adaptable are two qualities that Connie certainly has.  She can be found in nearly any position in our office.  She is equally skilled at the front desk, checking patients in or out, making appointments and answering the phone as she is helping in the clinical area.  Officially she acts as the Coordinator of Clinical Operations but she can also fill in as a dental assistant, laboratory technician, or operate the sterilization area.  Connie has a wealth of knowlege from over 25 years in the dental field and has a particular interest in the connections between dental disease and diabetes or other systemic diseases.  She is very helpful to our patients to help them understand their current dental status and can help them decide which of the many wonderful options that modern dentistry has to restore their mouth and give them the smile that they have always wanted.

Bridget Crowner

Bridget has been at Gouverneur Dental since 1992 and currently has the role of Appointment Manager.  She is usually the first face you see when you walk through the front door or the voice you hear when you call on the phone.  She is responsible to ensure our schedule runs smoothly, which is no small task if you consider her responsibility to fit in dental emergencies or deal with last minute appointment revisions.  Bridget is also in charge of ensuring the scheduling of all of the work done by our outside dental laboratory partners.  We count on her to ensure that our patient's labwork arrives on time so it is ready for their appointment.  If our patients require a referral to a dental specialist, Bridget is responsible to ensure a call is made before you leave to arrange for an appointment with that specialist and that any necessary documentation is ready for you.  If you have a question about your dental insurance benefits, Bridget is the go-to person for you.  She has vast experience dealing with the insurers used by the employers in our area.  Dental insurance is constantly evolving and changing, so if Bridget does not know the answer, it is very likely she will know who to contact to find out the answer to your question.

Shelly Palleschi

Shelly is the Business Manager at Gouverneur Dental.  She manages the financial aspects of our dental practice as well as personnel issues.  She is a graduate of SUNY Oswego in 1993 with a major in Business Administration.  Shelly coordinates payment plans with our patients utilizing our financial partners and can contact your insurance company to determine the status of your claim if they are slow paying you benefits that you are entitled to.  All of the practice bookkeeping is Shelly's responsibilty.  She ensures our vendors are paid on time, your insurance claims are submitted electronically on the date of service, patient statements are sent out on time and our banking transactions are properly executed and recorded.  Shelly also maintains records of our employee benefits and coordinates with the administrators of these plans so our team members are properly served.  Shelly also manages our certifications and compliances with the mandates of the many agencies that regulate our dental practice.  If you ever have a question about your account with us or the statement you received, Shelly is the person who can answer your question.
